AOD Workforce Development
Odyssey House Victoria, together with other AOD sector representatives, is researching what can be done to support the AOD workforce. To help with this initiative we would like to have your point of view regarding sector needs.

TAE40110 Certificate IV Training and Assessment
This qualification is the essential level for workplace training. Recently the Training and Assessment training package (TAA04) was reviewed and the updates were endorsed in May 2010. The new name for the training package is Training and Education TAE10 and the qualification is TAE40110 Certificate IV Training and Assessment and has only 10 Units of competency.
To Update or not? If you hold the TAA40104 Cert IV TAA, you most likely won't need to update, unless you intend delivering the new TAE40110 Cert IV TAA.

Community Services Training in Victoria
The Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations has recently reported, through its online Job Outlook website http://joboutlook.gov.au that employment for counsellors is expected to grow very strongly in the near future. So if you're thinking of improving your skills and knowledge of the mental health and alcohol and other drug sector, now is the right time. Courses from the new Community Services Training Package are available. You may be eligible for subsidised training with Odyssey House Victoria through the Skills for Your Future initiative (conditions apply).
