Upgrade Program:
Certificate IV in AOD to Diploma in AOD
This course is an upgrade for those who already have the Certificate IV in AOD work and is recommended for people working in the industry.
Some of the electives in this course are units required to attain a qualification in Dual Diagnosis.
Pre-requisites
Candidates will have completed the Certificate IV in AOD work within the past 4 years and to have worked in the AOD sector for a minimum of 2 years.
Course Description
Candidates will gain a greater understanding and expertise
in assessments, interventions, clinical skills, supervision and
counselling. Selected units on counselling are integrated
into the course as well as more advanced work on statutory
requirements and organisational management.
Assessment Strategies include:
Case scenarios & studies, short answer tests & essays, simulations, quizzes, referral & treatment planning exercises, interviews & scripted role-plays.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Candidates may apply for recognition of prior learning for one or more units. Please see the student handbook for more information.
Please be aware that evidence submitted for RPL cannot be returned. Applicants are encouraged to keep copies of their whole portfolio.

First Aid:
Participants are required to provide WRT with a copy of their current First Aid Certificate (Level 1 HLTFA301B Apply First Aid) or above.
